It is important to choose the correct lens for the GXV3601 IP Camera for the best video quality.
Below are several guidelines in helping you to select the right lens for the GXV3601 IP Camera

1. The Lens should match the Image Sensor

The GXV3601 offers an exchangeable lens. It’s important to select a lens suitable for the network camera. The image sensor of the GXV3601 is 1/3’’, so the lens should be 1/3’ also.

2. The Lens Mount

When changing a lens, it’s also important to know what type of lens mount the GXV3601 has.

There are two main standards:
CS Mount – The distance between the lens and the image sensor is 12.5mm
C Mount – The distance between the lens and the image sensor is 17.526
The CS Mount is more commonly used. To use C Mount, a 5mm C/CS adapter ring is needed.

3. The focal length of the lens

GXV3601 supports two major types of lenses:

Lens with fixed focal length – with the fixed focal lens, the camera can only have one field of view.
Lens with Varifocal length – with the Varifocal length, the camera will have different fields of view. The field of view can be manually adjusted.

4. The Aperture

The aperture stop of a photographic lens can be adjusted to control the amount of reaching the film or image sensor.

5. The depth of field

The depth of field is the portion of a scene that appears sharp in the image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on either side of the focused distance, So, the depth of field may be important if you want to monitor some area at a certain distance. The depth of field is determined by the object distance, the focal length of the lens, and aperture.
