Why does the three-way conference end when conference establisher hangs up and the other two parties cannot continue the conversation?
Out of the three parties that participate in the three-way conference, the conference establisher is the one that brings the remaining two parties together. If the conference establisher hangs up, the conference will no longer remain and the other two parties will not be able to continue the conversation. If one of the other two parties hangs up, it will not influence the call between the call establisher and the remaining party. This would just mean a reverting back from a three-way conference to a normal call.
Why doesn’t the IP address of the device reset when I click the “Restore” button on the Maintenance page?
The DVS could be installed in areas that are not easy to access. For example, it could be installed on the roof of a building or the ceiling of an office. This makes it difficult to reinstall the device, therefore the “Restore” function will not clear the IP address. Press the RESET button on the device for at least 6 seconds until you hear a beep to perform a factory reset of all parameters (including the IP address).
Why don’t I see a update notification even though my firmware is not the current version?
If Grandstream Wave is running in the background and during this period a new firmware version is released, you may not receive the update notification. Users need to exit the app, and start the app again, then, the update notification will appear automatically. Users can also tap on ‘Check Updates’ manually to verify if there is new version available.

If one stream, primary or secondary, is set to H264, then motion detection will take effect. Only when both primary and secondary are set to MJPEG will the motion detection not work. If the GXV3610 is on firmware 126.96.36.199, then by default the camera comes with the light condition set to Indoor. This can be corrected by navigating to Basic Settings-->Video & Audio Settings and changing the Power Frequency to Outdoor Note: The default Light Condition (Power Frequency) has been changed to Outdoor after firmware 188.8.131.52.

Why is the time display on the GXV3140 incorrect? How do I correct it?
The displayed time is dependent on the Network Time Protocol (NTP) server and the time zone. The NTP server field determines the time that will be displayed, by default it will display the time of the IPVideoTalk server. The time zone determines the time to be displayed and the phone can select the corresponding time zone based on your location. These can be configured in [MENU]→[Settings]→[time]. If both the NTP server and the time zone settings are correct but the time display is still incorrect, please reset the phone to the factory default settings.
Why is there a black / flashing bar at the bottom of the video feed?
This can occur if the DVS does not recognize the standard of the connected camera. If you experience this issue, please restart the DVS. The DVS will detect the standard of the connected camera and use that standard when the DVS boots up. To avoid this make sure to connect analog cameras before the DVS boots up.

This may be because the volume is adjusted to the lowest level. You can adjust the speaker volume level by using the up and down keys. Note: There are three types of volume levels. 1. Why is there no ring back tone?
Sometimes users would encounter this situation: after dialing the LCD displays shows that the call is connecting but you cannot hear the ring back tone. This can be caused by several factors: (1) The network that the phone is in is not functional, and cannot send out the request to the server correctly. Please check the network settings in this case. For example, check if the network cable is securely connected and if there is a problem with the router. (2) The callee is not connected to the network. If you are using the IPVideoTalk server, please do not hang up. The server will transfer the call to the voice/video mail box and you can leave a message for the callee. When the callee connects back to the server, a notification will be sent out to the callee to retrieve the message. (3) The server registered is not functional and ignores all the requests by the phone. Please contact the service provider for more assistance in this case.

If it is set to “No”, video is disabled during calls.

Will the GXV3500 Decoder/Encoder be compatible with third party cameras?
Encode Mode: (Analogue Camera) Generally, most 3rd party analogue cameras will be digitized to IP Camera when connecting to GXV3500 BNC port at Encode Mode. Decode Mode: (IP Camera) Whether GXV3500 can decode the data stream from a 3rd party IP camera is dependent on how the stream was encoded. GXV3500 utilizes the RTSP stream and is capable ONLY H.264 formats decoding (so MJPEG is out of luck). General rule of thumb is if the RTSP stream of 3rd party IP Camera can be viewed by VLC Player (free open source media player software), the GXV3500 will very likely be able to decode the stream, but no guarantee due to the variety of H.264 encoding implementation by different IP Camera vendors.
