The UCM6100 series is a SIP-based IP PBX which adheres to SIP standards and therefore should support SIP-based functionality on most SIP IP phones available today. The UCM6100 series runs on a customized version of the Asterisk OS and users can also refer to Asterisk's list of supported IP Phones and Asterisk configuration notes for specific hard phones and ATAs for a more detailed list.

Why am I getting a strange icon with a down arrow going into a basket [_]?
This symbol is stating that the phone is writing files to the call record detail file. This occurs when the phone is either idle for 5 minutes or when the call records reach greater than 100 calls.
Why am I receiving calls from unknown extensions and how do I prevent these calls from happening?
Being that VoIP devices are running over an IP network, we find that these devices become more vulnerable to attacks. Whether it be a denial of service or an attempt to use your services without you even being notified. In cases where you receive phantom calls from random extensions that do not belong to your softswitch, may point to an automated scanner, which seek out gateways in attempt to make free calls as the owners expense. If this is occurring on your SIP Gateway, it is recommended that do not forward port 5060 on your router, but to use a unconventional SIP port. If this is occurring on a Grandstream IP phone, users have the ability to deny calls that are not authenticated. On a GXP2130/40/60 you can find the option by navigating the the web interface, clicking on Account X-->SIP Settings-->Security Settings and enabling "Authenticate Incoming invite"
Why are certain permissions required for Grandstream Wave?
1. Directly call phone numbers With this permission, Grandstream Wave can place calls. 2. Contacts With this permission, Grandstream Wave can add/delete/edit local contacts and contacts. 3. Record audio VoIP phone apps require this feature to be enabled. 4. Wi-Fi Grandstream Wave can check Wi-Fi connect status, and use WiFi to connect to your SIP IP PBX. 5. Bluetooth Grandstream Wave supports audio connection via Bluetooth. 6. Camera Grandstream Wave uses this to enable taking a photo for a contact's portrait. 7. Photos/Media/Files Grandstream Wave requires this to access local Album to take a photo for a contact's portrait. 8. Run at startup, close other apps Grandstream Wave can be enabled to auto start when your Android device reboots, and closes the program when "Exit" is selected from the main menu. 9. Why are my captures and video recordings saving to the "C:\" drive and not saving to the specified path when using the web interface?
This is a known issue for Window's users. The way to correct this is by performing the following: Go to the Windows Control Panel-->System Security-->Action Center-->Change User Account Control Settings Another window will pop-up which will allow the user to choose when to be notified about changes to the computer. Drag the lever down to "Never Notify" Another way to allow saving to the specified directory is to right-click on the Google Chrome or Mozilla FireFox icon and select "Run As Administrator. Note: When performing the "Change User Account Control Settings" you will be required to reboot for changes to take effect.
Why can I receive incoming PSTN calls, but outgoing calls (one-stage or two-stage) can't grab a PSTN line?
You may have compatibility issues with some Verizon, Qwest, or certain other PSTN lines. The following issues may occur: One-stage VoIP to PSTN calls cause the line LED to turn on and hang up immediately Two-stage VoIP to PSTN calls, GXW410x does not pick up a PSTN line Incoming PSTN calls do not have caller ID information (if caller ID information is available) To fix the above issues: Contact Grandstream Support for the latest firmware or visit www.grandstream.com. Set the following values in the FXO Lines web configuration page: Enable Current Disconnect to Yes (if the PSTN provider utilizes Current Disconnect). Current Disconnect Threshold: 300 Min Delay Before Dial PSTN: 750
