T38Fax Certifies Grandstream Voice Products with Power-T.38 Fax Service
Grandstream’s HandyTone Analog Telephone Adapters (ATAs), GXW-series VoIP Gateways and IP PBXs have been tested and certified with IP fax service from T38Fax Incorporated
Norristown, PA and Boston, MA (November 14, 2017) – Grandstream and T38Fax Incorporated today announced the successful completion of interoperability testing between a variety of Grandstream solutions and fax-aware “Power-T.38” SIP trunks from T38Fax Incorporated. Grandstream customers can now access T38 Fax’s extensively tested and formally supported service offerings. T38 Fax’s solution delivers reliable T.38 Fax-Over-IP (FoIP) termination and origination across the entire Grandstream product line without sacrificing the reliability that fax users have come to expect from many years of successful faxing over the PSTN.
Grandstream offers a suite of innovative products and solutions that increase business productivity while lowering communication costs. For business customers who want to preserve investment in analog devices and still take full advantage of IP, Grandstream’s GXW series gateways are ideal and competitive solutions to VoIP-enable a traditional PBX or analog fax system with 4, 8, 16, 24, 32 or 48 analog ports. For small businesses, home offices & road warriors, the HT500, HT700 and HT800 series of Analog Telephone Adapters (ATAs) are available to offer rich telephony functionality and unrivaled affordability. Grandstream’s UCM series IP PBX is an award-winning on-premise IP PBX that offers small-to-medium businesses (SMBs) a set of enterprise-level voice, video, data and mobility solutions with no licensing fees or extra costs in a very easy-to-manage fashion.
Packet-switched VoIP networks are prone to small audio artifacts that, while imperceptible to humans, can wreak havoc with the machine-based signaling employed in fax transmissions. The industry addressed these challenges by inventing the T.38 protocol, which converts the audio to data messages that can travel safely over challenging network conditions without any signal loss.
“Grandstream includes extensive support for T.38 in each of their products and their engineering team has been very responsive throughout the interop testing.” said Darren Nickerson, President of T38Fax. “It’s truly refreshing to see a company with a commitment to not just supporting, but working with partners such as us to actually improve their T.38 implementation. We’re excited to be able to introduce Grandstream customers to our Power-T.38 SIP trunks and to demonstrate exactly how we use science, not superstition to troubleshoot failing fax transmissions.”
About T38Fax Incorporated
Founded in 2012 and based just outside of Philadelphia, PA, T38Fax Incorporated provides fax-optimized SIP trunks to business customers within the US and Canada. Its promise of ‘Simple, Reliable Fax Over IP’ is fulfilled via a combination of three key features:
1. Consistent T.38: T38Fax sells you its own T.38 instead of its underlying carriers’ various flawed implementations. By controlling the T.38 stack it can make sure it’s predictable, feature-rich and trouble-free.
2. ECM Error Correction: A facsimile is not guaranteed to be an exact copy without this vital feature of the fax protocol. Most carriers mistakenly turn off ECM. T38Fax offers ECM on all calls, and recommends all devices be configured to use it.
3. Premium Fax Support: T38Fax offers unlimited free support from fax industry veterans. They use science, not superstition, when troubleshooting fax issues.
